ABOUT THE PROJECT
Carl Gustav Jung was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology. Jung's interest in mythology, religion, and anthropology led him to explore common themes and symbols in different cultures. He observed that certain motifs and figures appeared consistently in myths, legends, and religious texts worldwide.
This observation led him to conclude that these recurring symbols were expressions of the collective unconscious, which is shared by all humans.
Through his clinical work and self-analysis, Jung identified several key archetypes that he believed were fundamental to the human psyche. He introduced these ideas in his seminal works, including "The Archetypes and the Collective Unconscious" and "Symbols of Transformation."
